I'm a muslim and planning on marrying a non-practicing christian. Will I have a problem finding a Imam to perform the Imam? Do you know of any interfaith couple? What should I expect from such an imam? I don't expect my future wife to convert to islam, but she's agreed that we can raise our children as muslims.
Cheers

Lemme ask you this: Are her words set in stone that you definitely WILL be able to raise your children as Muslims?

Thats not a shariah condition otherwise it would of been made haram because no one can know the future.
ebadudu you probably won't have too many issues as long as she isn't an atheist.

We've talked about sending our kids to Quran school, me taking them to the mosque on fridays, and she's fine with it. But like the previous poster said, the future is not guaranteed.

First she'll rationalise that Christmas is about being "together" and loving each other. Next thing you know you'll have a christmass tree in your home and a papier maché Baby Jesus sitting underneath it.

Settle, it seems he has chosen the course of action he is going with and its halal unless I am mistaken so lets leave it at that.

And I agree with Yalla-back's comment.
You know what I really support? Inter-racial marriages. But not interfaith marriages.

Allah Knows Best, but If you show her the way to Islam maybe she would InshAllah!
also have you tried asking a Imam?
I haven't spoken to one yet, but I've read about Imams wanting the wife to accept islam. Now since she doesn't practice her beliefs, I think she'll accept Islam but I doubt that she'll practice.
Someone mentioned how unfair it is for a muslim man to marry a non-muslim woman and not vice versa. When I was looking for a wife, my first problem was that there wasn't that many muslim women with a similar racial background to mine (I am not from Asia). Second, was that from all the matrimonial sites that I went to 70% of the people on the sites were men. Now, I could've travelled back to my homeland to marry a muslim woman and come back to Canada. But I don't agree with that (because I prefer someone who's already here that I can relate to).
About my kid ending up Christian, I wouldn't like it, but there isn't much I can do about it. I know a lot of muslims who don't even practice and also has some Christians in my extended family. The only way I think I can influence my future kids is by practicing Islam more (so that they can learn from my example).

Dude, Imams are not scary people who yell haram haram. Just go find one in the masjid and if he indeed turns out to be scary - try another masjid.

What happens if you die while your kids are young? do you really think your wife is going to bother raising them Islamically? or do you think after your death she will have basic rules like "no pork". Because i've seen stuff like this happen.

because when a muslim woman won't compromise then it should be ok to marry someone outside of your religion.
